conventional international law

Primary tabs

Conventional international law is the body of international legal principles contained in treaties versus customary international law or other sources of international law. As provided in Article 38(1)(a) of Statute of the International Court of Justice, 26 June 1945, conventional international law finds its source in “international conventions, whether general or particular, establishing rules expressly recognized by the contesting states”.
