conditions of carriage

Primary tabs

Conditions of carriage (also known as contract of carriage) refer to the infamous terms and conditions used by transportation companies as requirements for using their services. Conditions of carriage usually are adhesion contracts which are accepted by purchasing or checking a box when purchasing the service, but the characteristics of the conditions depend on the market. Airline industries, for example, include conditions of carriage that require passengers to act orderly on planes, follow baggage rules, acknowledge flights might be cancelled, agree to arbitration clauses, etc. Shipping companies might include clauses in conditions of carriage that the company is not financially responsible for certain delays of, conditions of, or damages to packages.
